What’s your business or online venture, and when did you launch?
Real Life E (R) is a time coaching and speaking company that I launched in 2008, and Grace Communications Inc. is a writing company for magazine and marketing clients that I started in 2005.
How did you decide this venture was right for you?
When I first started out as an entrepreneur, I struggled with feeling guilty for working all the time but then also feeling guilty when I wasn’t working! Without a set schedule, I didn’t know when to say “enough.” But over the past couple of years, I learned how to transform my schedule so I could not only achieve as an entrepreneur but also BE the kind of person I wanted to be. My personal journey led me to empower others (especially women in business) to achieve work/life brilliance (TM) through Schedule Makeovers (TM).
What’s your motivation professionally?
Seeing transformation and new life in my clients motivates me. Almost nothing makes me sadder than seeing amazing people lose their spark and excitement about life because they’re so stressed out and overwhelmed.
What keeps you inspired personally?
My faith plays a huge role in who I am and what I do. I see every part of my life as an opportunity to love God and love people, which brings added purpose and meaning to each moment.
What makes you, your business or venture innovative?
Too often time management and work/life balance advice consists of vague principles that only overwhelm an already super busy person. With the Schedule Makeover (TM) process, I help people take an objective look at how they are using their time, how these habits influence every part of their well being, and what they would like to change. Then I develop a customized weekly schedule based on their specific needs and time challenges. This means that they can achieve their ideal lifestyle virtually on autopilot—maximizing the time they have and fitting in what’s most important.
How do you help others?
Overwhelmed, frustrated, and discouraged individuals come away from my coaching and speaking refreshed, focused, and inspired to take on the world! Through time coaching, I help people discover their dream schedule and then give them concrete action steps on how to make it happen. Through speaking, I inspire women in business that they can achieve work/life balance and move forward with confidence on their personal and professional dreams, no matter what the economy.
How do you define success?
A life of love for God, love for people, and love for myself full of beauty, laughter, and adventure.
As a client, customer, or business professional, what can I expect from you, your business or venture?
Abundant inspiration, practical advice, reliable service, and loads of encouragement are hallmarks of Real Life E (R).
What advice would you give other mothers, entrepreneurs, or career women?
Don’t listen to people who tell you that you can’t “have it all” or that you just always need to sacrifice. I believe that when you discover your personal definition of success and strategically and systematically move toward it, you can have more than you ever believed possible.
